Thy Holy Authority

The priesthood is the Power of God.  I am thankful for the blessings that the priesthood has brought to my life.  I did not grow up in a family with faithful or active priesthood members.  I am thankful for the influences I have had in my life and for the many things that I Have learned because of it.  As a daughter of God I know tha tI need to support my husband, son and all other priesthood members in their callings.  In doing so I will be blessed.  I've gained a stronger testimony of just how important the priesthood is to me...as a woman.

Quote 1:  The Lord has made those consequences clear. Rising to the possibilities of the oath and covenant brings the greatest of all the gifts of God: eternal life. That is a purpose of the Melchizedek Priesthood. Through keeping the covenants as we receive the priesthood and renewing them in the temple ceremonies, we are promised by an oath made by our Heavenly Father, Elohim, that we will gain the fullness of His glory and live as He lives. We will have the blessing of being sealed in a family forever with the promise of eternal increase.
Elder Henry B. Eyring, “Faith and the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood”, April 2008 General Conference

Quote 2:  The Bible is clear that priesthood authority is necessary and that this authority had to be conferred by the laying on of hands by those who held it. Priesthood authority did not come from a desire to serve or from reading the scriptures. When that priesthood authority was lost through apostasy, it had to be restored by those resurrected beings who had held it in mortality and who were sent to confer it. That happened as part of the Restoration of the gospel, and that priesthood authority, together with the keys necessary to direct its operations, are in this Church and no other.
Elder Dallin H. Oaks, “The Only True and Living Church”, August 2011 Liahona

Quote 3: In an even more serious kind of spiritual warfare, brethren, the day may come—indeed, I am certain will come—when in an unexpected circumstance or a time of critical need, lightning will strike, so to speak, and the future will be in your hands. Be ready when that day comes. Be strong. Always be clean. Respect and revere the priesthood that you hold, tonight and forever.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, “Sanctify Yourselves”, November 2000 Ensign

Quote 4: Priesthood keys direct women as well as men, and priesthood ordinances and priesthood authority pertain to women as well as men.
Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, April 2014 General Conference

Quote 5: Priesthood is the means whereby the Lord acts through men to save souls. One of the defining features of The Church of Jesus Christ, both anciently and today, is His authority. There can be no true church without divine authority."
Elder David A. Bednar - The Powers of Heaven

Quote 6: The same priesthood power that created worlds, galaxies, and the universe can and should be part of our lives to succor, strengthen, and bless our families, our friends, and our neighbors."
M. Russell Ballard, This is My Work and My Glory

Quote 7: All keys of the priesthood are held by the Lord Jesus Christ, whose priesthood it is.
Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, April 2014 General Conference

Quote 8: Pride is a switch that turns off priesthood power. Humility is a switch that turns it on.
Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Pride and the Priesthood,"  General Conference, Oct. 2010

Quote 9: Let us learn and contemplate our duty. Let us be willing and worthy to serve. Let us in the performance of our duty follow the footsteps of the Master.”
President Thomas S. Monson, “Willing and Worthy to Serve”, April 2012

Quote 10: The what of the priesthood service teaches us what to do. The why inspires our souls. The what informs, but the why transforms.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The Why of the Priesthood”, April 2012
